Emerging works of art from around the state of Indiana
|
Located adjacent to VSAI’s State office at the Harrison Center in the old-northside of Indianapolis, en ROUTE Gallery opened in 2003 as a venue to give exhibition opportunities to artists with disabilities, VSAI teaching artists, and artists somehow connected to disability communities in Indiana. As part of VSAI’s overall mission to provide access to the arts, en ROUTE Gallery works to provide information and assistance to artists who are new to gallery procedures and sales. It also functions as an exhibit space and sales gallery for VSAI’s transitional program, Urban Artisans. The gallery features paintings, mixed-media, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography and ceramics. As a member of the Indianapolis Downtown Artist and Dealers Association (IDADA), en ROUTE participates in the IDADA First Friday program and presents a new exhibit each month.
